Healthy Office & Commercial Spaces

Ideally, your workspace should be as healthy as your home. Numerous studies show the benefits of having a healthy environment. Employees are happier and more productive, and employers have reduced healthcare costs. Our Healthy Office & Commercial Spaces Assessment follows the same methods and protocols as our Healthy Home Makeover to identify and eliminate environmental toxins in your workplace.

The Healthy Office & Commercial Assessment evaluates your workplace for:

Air contaminants

Water pollutants

Mold, mycotoxins, and MVOCs (Microbial Volatile Organic Compounds)

VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), SVOCs (Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds) and VVOCs (Very Volatile Organic Compounds)

Electromagnetic fields (magnetic fields, electric fields, “dirty electricity” and radiofrequency radiation)

Radon, combustible gases, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide

Lighting and Sound issues

The Healthy Office & Commercial Assessment includes:

The Healthy Office & Commercial Assessment process:

Our assessment begins with an Environmental Health Factors Questionnaire. Your answers help us learn of any issues you’re already facing and identify those that still need to be addressed.

We then complete a comprehensive inspection of your workplace’s building materials and systems. During this process we only use the most professional and high-end testing equipment and protocols:

Many pollutants in the air are so small you can’t even smell them. Our professional sampling pumps are specifically designed to detect for VOCs, SVOCs & VVOCs so you know exactly what’s in your air.

Mold can go undetected for years, slowly wreaking havoc on your home and your health. We search for mold and its metabolites, MVOCs, using all the tools in the arsenal including:

  • Infrared thermal imaging cameras (High-definition - not the kind you attach to your phone)
  • Moisture meters
  • Professional sampling pumps with enough strength and duration to take “gold standard” tests that at-home kits can’t conduct.

A new study estimates that 200 million Americans could have the deadly fluorinated chemicals known as PFAS - "forever chemicals" - in their drinking water. You don't know until you test.

Electromagnetic Fields

Using our meters along with our thermal imaging cameras, we can locate “hot spots” that may indicate faulty wiring (the cause of almost 70% of house fires) or other electromagnetic issues.

Radon and Harmful Gases

Higher than average concentration levels of radon, carbon monoxide and other combustible gases can be deadly. Homes in Bernalillo County have some of the highest radon levels in the country.

Did you know that fluorescent lights flicker at a rate of around 120 times per second, causing eye fatigue and headaches for many people? Our lighting meters can measure a light’s color temperature, color hue, brightness, flicker, and other influences that affect your overall well-being.

You may not think have a problem with loud noise, but many of us have become numb to it. It can affect us powerfully and negatively, leading to hearing damage but it can also cause high blood pressure, heart attacks, and strokes.

Final Report, Analysis and Mitigation Plan

Once we receive all the results, we write a detailed report that includes an analysis of your laboratory results, a mitigation plan, and how-to guides to help resolve your workplace’s issues. Our goal is to help you create the healthiest working environment possible.
